Mobile massage therapists need to be able to take a Folding Massage Table anywhere, and that might include places that are not always convenient for set up and take down. Just carrying the massage table can be a hassle if you have to use public transportation or if you ride a bike as a primary means of getting around.
Once a massage therapist gets to an office building or private home to give a massage the problem of setting up the table in sometimes very limited space remains. So if you’re thinking about offering mobile massages, or if you have been having problems figuring out how to solve problems related to moving and setting up your Folding Massage Table here are some tips from successful massage therapists that will help:
Get A High Quality Carrying Case
Sometimes portable tables come with an average quality carrying case, or don’t come with one at all. Spend the money to get a high quality carrying case made from durable materials like rip-stop plastic or nylon. Make sure it has padded straps. Having the right padding is very important to keep your back and shoulders healthy, especially if you are carrying the table on public transportation or using a bike. Make sure that the carrying case is waterproof too, so that the table upholstery won’t get wet even if you’re walking in the rain. You may also want to get an accessory bag to carry additional parts like head rests, arm rests and massage table covers if the carrying case doesn’t have extra room for them.
Know The Dimensions Of Your Table
It may sound a little strange but knowing the exact dimensions of your Folding Massage Table and keeping a tape measure with you can save you a lot of hassle and make it possible to give massages almost anywhere. In some spaces you may have only minutes to decide where to set up the massage table in a tight or enclosed space. If you know the dimensions of your table and you have a tape measure with you it will be easier to pick the perfect spot in the room and be confident that the table will fit there.
Get Used To Carrying The Weight Of Your Table
At first the massage table may seem quite heavy, so practice carrying it when you don’t have massage clients in order to get used to the weight. Go further and further each time until you are confident you can carry the Folding Massage Table anywhere.

I hadn’t realized there were so many things to consider when buying a massage table although it makes perfect sense. I like the idea of a warming system.
Hello Weorth James
I agree, a Massage Table Warming Pad is a great accessory and are available for the Folding Massage Tables as well.

It is a great way for Massage Therapist to extend their services into customer’s homes, especially if they are unable to leave them, eg the elderly. Thankyou for enjoying my post.

Great idea to know the dimensions of the table and to carry a tape measure. There’s nothing worse that trying to judge the size of something without having the measurements. It usually involves another trip back to the store with the dimensions.

Hi Jayne,
Good advice about slowly building up to the weight of the folding massage table. I do a lot of hiking and can carry quite a heavy load on my back – all day if want to. But I’ve had to build up to the weight.
Thanks for another good post.

Hello Jan
It is a very similar idea as to your hiking – there is no point trying to start to carry something heavyish from the day one as you are just going to have muscle fatigue – and then the massage therapist will need to go and have a massage from a colleague!

Electric Massage Tables all the way. My wife is an osteopath and she’s bought two Athlegen electric massage tables to treat her patients. They are top notch, helping her adjust to the patients’ needs and provide a better treatment.
